Curry Ridge Riders BBQ @ Nice View

at the north end of Tokisitna Loop 

(Some of you may recall this as the snowmachine pullout along the Tokisitna Trail on top of a small hill overlooking the Princess Lodge).

For those coming up the Parks Highway: parking at MP 131.1 parking lot is EXTREMELY LIMITED.  Come early or 

plan on parking at MP121.5 or MP127 and riding the rest of the way north. 

There will be markers ON THE MAIN TRAILS in the snow directing you to the CRR BBQ 

 

We will also be featuring our annual membership drive which is how we afford what we do to keep South Denali winter-use trail system maintained and groomed with your memberships and donations to the Curry Ridge Riders.

Single is $20/year, Family is $30/year and Business Memberships are $50/year.

Directions from MP131.1 parking lot: There is a “You Are Here” metal trail map secured to a tree in the parking lot if you need graphic directions.  Otherwise, ride south from the parked cars a very short distance south to “Tokisitna Loop” snowmachine trail, turn right (west) for 1/2 mile and you will arrive at the event location on top of a small hill.

 

Directions from MP121.5 parking lot: ride a short distance east to the intersection of Chulitna Bluff Trail where there is a “You Are Here” metal trail map on a striped pole if you need graphic directions.  Turn left (north) and follow the Chulitna Bluff Trail approximately 10 miles until it crosses the Parks Highway (do not confuse the 131.1 highway crossing for the highway crossing at MP121.5 !).  There will be markings in the snow to direct you.  After crossing the Parks Highwayat 131.1, the trail now becomes Tokisitna Loop.  Go one mile west staying on the same trail for one mile and you will arrive at the event location on top of a small hill.  

 

Directions from MP127 pull out (very limited parking space):  ride across the Parks Highway east to find the trail connector for Chulitna Bluff Trail and turn north (left) to the Parks Highway crossing proceeding as the above or ride northwest from the MP127 parking lot on the Swan Lake Trail and further into either the Bunco Creek drainage  (no grooming or signs) or onward to Tokisitna Loop trail (no grooming or signs)and then head north on the Tokisitna Loop Trail until you arrive at Nice View, approximately 9 miles..

 

Directions from Reflector Tree on the East-West Trail:   You Are Here” metal trail map secured to a striped pole if you need graphic directions at the center of Reflector Tree intersection.  Trail leaving southwest from Reflector Tree connects with Tokisitna Loop Trail (another “You Are Here” metal sign attached to a tree at this intersection) where you head north (right) and stay on Tokisitna Loop Trail (main groomed trail with BBQ marks in the snow) approximately 38 miles to Nice View.
