Kanikula Glacier Day Ride !

One of the club’s MOST POPULAR day rides !  Kanikula Glacier in South Denali

This is an intermediate ride due to distance, possible slight side-hilling and shallow water crossing requirements (SEE CONDITIONS UPDATE 3/23 BELOW). This is a 100 mile ride that will depart at 10:30 from Trapper Creek Inn at MP 114.6 of the Parks Highway. Please arrive early and be ready to leave on time. We will travel via the Chulitna Bluff & North Loop trail that goes through Denali State Park so be sure you have a current Alaska snowmachine registration.

Average drive time from Anchorage is about 2 1/2 hours.

We will then ride off-trail up the Tokositna River where we may encounter open water crossings.  After the scenic Tokositna Glacier we’ll head up the Kanikula River to the glacier view picnic stop. The return trip will join back up with the groomed Tokositna River Trail and then East-West Express trail. Bring your camera, extra gas, lunch & water. Plan on arriving back at the parking lot around 6 PM.
As always, check the ASC hot line 689-7777 for last minute updates before departing for the ride.
