BRAND NEW Day Ride !!!  Sheep Creek Lodge …..we’ll be riding the area trails in the mid Susitna Valley.  Meet at parking lot MP88 on the Parks Highway in North Willow (5 miles south of Talkeetna Spur) and depart 10am.  THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE-SKILL LEVEL RIDE taking in the area trails but nothing overly technical.  We’ll probably cut somewhere around 80 miles and back at the cars by 4 to 5pm.

Sheep Creek Lodge has delicious dining and COZY environs so how about accommodations overnight ??  They’re offering ASC Members deeply discounted accommodations @ $79 instead of $89 for cabin OR $105 instead of $132 for a lodge room, based on single or double occupancy.  For more information and reservations for lodging, call Sheep Creek Lodge directly at 907-495-6227 and be certain to mention your membership.  NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE ON THE DAY RIDE TO RECEIVE THIS SPECIAL DISCOUNTED RATE.  Sheep Creek Lodge is also providing live musical entertainment Saturday evening in the lodge from 8 to 11pm for our enjoyment !

PLEASE RSVP if you are going on this day ride to Gene Gerken at

Bring full gas & oil, sack lunch, beverage out on the trail and your camera…..and check the hotline 689-7777 just before you leave for any changes to the schedule.

We’re gonna have a blast….!!

Glad to see Molly out on the trails. She and Jessy work hard at the lodge. Planning 10am 4/1 ride from sheep creek lodge. Details to follow on route to rabideaux trail then up to curry ridge BBQ.

Trail update for Friday March 17: today we were able to get the South/Deshka Trail groomed. Yesterday the trail from Trapper Lake to Susitna Landing was groomed and tomorrow we will be grooming the North/Rabideux trail. The trails are in very good shape after grooming and as always, please be aware of changing trail conditions. The Photo is of the South Trail where we were grooming today.
